typography film festival poster.
an assignement in which we created a film festival poster with handmade typography as the dominant element. for this project, i experiemented with different layouts and vehicles for creating type before settling on my latest version.
early exploration.
an early exploration in which i used a flashlight and raised paper letters to create a spotlight effect. though this process somewhat worked, i felt it was too time costly, and later changed my vehicle for creating physical type.
physcial elements.
this is the physical type i created using hand-carved stamps made of cardboard and paint. to convert them to a digital media, i scanned them then removed the background using photoshop.
final poster.
after many iterations and changes i came to this final version. i changed the directions of the spotlights to create more dynamic compostion and added the paint pattern in the back for texture. i also lightend the colors for a more airy feel.
